Our ideal candidate has the ability to create fresh, forward-thinking content through the use of graphics, videos and unique ideas to tell the conference’s story on our website and across social media. This candidate will be eager to show continued growth, exhibit a service-oriented mindset, and be dedicated to developing their leadership skills. The responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Lead the marketing and external communications efforts to promote the United East, its member institutions, and student-athletes
• Produce conference graphics, videos, and press releases for game recaps, award announcements, and other conference news.
• Aide in the collection, organization and distribution of conference awards, including weekly and annual award selections.
• Provide conference representation and on-sight social media coverage (photo/video) during championship events.
• Compile and maintain conference record books and archives.
• Work in unison with member Athletic Communications Staff/Sports Information Directors to assure all statistics are accurately represented on the conference website.
• Serve as a liaison for the United East Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) including assisting with bi-annual inperson meetings, Zoom meetings, and community service events.
• Support the conference office in league-wide strategic initiatives, which may include data collection, program facilitation, marketing, and promotions.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to work nights and weekends, which will include travel to conference events
• Preference considered for candidates located or willing to reside within the conference’s Pennsylvania footprint
• An extensive knowledge of graphic design with an emphasis on Adobe Photoshop.
• A general understanding of video creation, including camera work and Adobe Premier. • Excellent writing skills with knowledge of AP style guidelines.
• Experience with SIDEARM content management systems and statistical software.
• Prior work with SAAC as a student-athlete representative or administrator.
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently to produce quality work in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
The United East Conference is home to 17 member institutions which compete at the highest level of NCAA Division III athletics. Founded in 2004 as the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), the United East has seen its membership evolve to one that now emcompasses schools in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
In addition to ranging from urban to rural campuses, the United East prides itself on being one of the most diverse conference in Division III. It is comprised of both public and private schools as well as faith-based institutions, technical colleges and the largest deaf and hard-of-hearing institution in the United States.
