The Syracuse University Office of Athletic Communications is looking to hire two assistants to fulfill a 10-month commitment beginning in July of 2026. The successful candidates will possess a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and the long-term goal of working in the athletic communications profession.
The responsibilities of the temporary athletic communications assistants will include:
Serving as the primary contacts for assigned Olympic sports and secondary contacts for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s lacrosse.
Creating content (photography, videography, and graphics) for social media accounts
Managing social media accounts and website (Cuse.com) content creation and management.
Providing media training for coaches and student-athletes
Serving as a liaison with local and national media
Assisting with supervision of student staff
Travelling with assigned teams
Recording statistics and maintaining archives
Providing information to the NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference and College Hockey America.
Syracuse’s 20-sport athletic program is affiliated with NCAA Division I and the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The position requires strong writing skills, in addition to experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere, NCAA Live Stats, Stat Crew and all social media platforms.
In addition to the daytime office hours, nights and weekends are required.
