As Head of Special Projects, you’ll direct and operate all core data acquisition functions, including collecting, cataloging, normalizing, and organizing inbound data from across the higher education and college athletics markets. You’ll lead this process end-to-end — building it, running it, and improving it — while working closely with the Founder & CEO on a daily basis. As our data collection matures, there's a meaningful opportunity to expand your scope and take on broader responsibilities across the company.
What You'll Do:
Design and own a rigorous, scalable process for submitting, tracking, and managing large data gathering initiatives across public institutions.
Consistently send new requests and manage document receipt and processing, as well as handling responses and follow-up inquiries from institutions.
Cross-reference incoming data against our target dataset to identify gaps and prioritize future requests across schools and data categories accordingly.
Innovate, create, and scale data gathering using latest technologies to drive efficiency.
Collaborate directly with the Founder & CEO on a range of strategic and operational projects, with the expectation that this portion of the role will grow over time.
Requirements:
A demonstrated track record of building and managing complex, repeatable business processes from scratch.
Comfort owning workstreams independently: you’re someone who figures things out and doesn’t need to be managed closely.
A technologist at heart, you seek new and improved pathways to drive efficiency in your daily activities and can demonstrate such behaviors with your work track record.
Genuine interest in joining an early-stage company and growing into a broader role over time.
Nice to haves:
Familiarity with or enthusiasm for AI tools to streamline and accelerate work.
Interest in college sports, sports business, and/or higher education market.
Ability to work with the team in South Bend, Indiana on a regular basis.
