The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Athletics Communications Associate. This is a 10-month appointment for the 2025-26 academic year with approximately a $2,000 per month salary. The position assists the Associate Athletic Director for Communications in promoting UAB’s intercollegiate sports programs. Serves as the primary contact for volleyball and softball (some travel included). Designs, writes and produces media guides, news releases and other printed material. Compiles and reports official NCAA statistics and acts as liaison to the American Athletic Conference office. Nominates student-athletes for national, regional and conference honors. Coordinates media operations for home events; assists with special events when necessary. Contributes to the maintenance of the official athletics website (uabsports.com). Handles the day-to-day maintenance of UAB’s Athletics and sport-specific official social media channels.
