Xavier University Athletic Communications is seeking a graduate assistant for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years. The selected candidate will be the primary communications contact for two team sports, one in the fall (volleyball) and one in the spring (women’s lacrosse), and other sport coverage as assigned. Responsibilities include but are not limited to all communications needs, including social media, website management, game staffing, record keeping, photo schedules, programs, publications, press releases and publicity for assigned sports. Individual will perform other duties as assigned, including assistance with men’s and women’s basketball. Xavier, a member of the BIG EAST Conference, sponsors 19 NCAA Division I sports.

• The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, energetic, work well on tight deadlines and possess the ability to manage several projects at once. This position will include some work on nights and weekends and some travel.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• The candidate must possess excellent writing and editing skills.
• Preferred applicants possess knowledge of computer applications, especially some Adobe Creative Suite programs and NCAA Genius Stats, and a willingness and ability to learn new programs.
• Experience with a website content management platform. 
• Experience with social media, especially X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok is a plus.
• Hiring is contingent completion of a successful background check.
