The Ohio Athletic Conference is the nation’s third-oldest collegiate athletic conference, founded in 1902, and competes in the NCAA’s Division III. Currently, the conference consists of nine members: Baldwin Wallace University, Capital University, Heidelberg University, Marietta College, the University of Mount Union, Muskingum University, Ohio Northern University, Otterbein University and Wilmington College. All nine of the OAC institutions were founded in the 19th century and have long and outstanding academic reputations.
The OAC currently sponsors championships in 21 sports, 11 men’s and 10 women’s. The athletic competition is viewed not as an end, but as an extension of high educational programs and academic values. While maintaining high academic standards, Ohio Athletic Conference teams and athletes consistently have a great deal of success on a regional and national level.
