Position: 12- month administrative position report to the Director of Athletics. Supervises the following employees: Graduate assistants and student workers related to statistical and administrative responsibilities.
Duties: The successful candidate will manage the sports information needs for 21 varsity programs. Duties will include (but are not limited to) web page maintenance and improvement, social media updates, game management functions, producing press releases, feature stories, game programs, updating and maintaining statistics, operating in-game scoring statistical programs and post-game score reporting and media relations. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and supervising a student staff as well as developing and maintaining team and individual records and photo archives. The successful candidate will represent the Athletic Department within the campus community and have a close working relationship with the public relations office and other writers on campus. The successful candidate will demonstrate good organizational and time management skills and the ability to work independently.
Specific responsibilities include:
All aspects of Athletics social media and web site maintenance and improvement
All aspects of pre, in, and post game media reporting
Hiring and training student staff
Updating and maintaining athletic program records
Compliance with NCAA and conference legislation
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics & Recreation
All aspects of contest stat keeping and coordination
Supervise Assistant Director of Athletic Communications
Position Requirements: A bachelor’s degree is required. Previous experience in collegiate sports information or media relations is preferred. Applicants should have strong computer skills and competency in Stat Crew, Genius Sports, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite. Experience with a content management system for Web publishing is preferred.
