Assist the Director of Media Relations in the day-to-day operations of the NMSU Athletics Media Relations office; supervise, direct, delegate, and evaluate work of assigned staff; produce game notes, media guides, programs and releases; game day management.
Maintains, develops and enhances media relationships, writes news releases; researches and prepares background and briefing materials for interactions that university representatives have with the media. Works with the Director to identify news that support key university sports initiatives and messages and enhances and builds the image of the university sports through strategic media placements. May assist the director in management of specific functions of the unit. Performs other duties as assigned.
Mens basketball experience Graphic design and video editing experience are strongly recommended. Work experience in an NCAA Division I media relations/sports information office Experience creating and posting social media content Knowledge of photography, camera equipment and editing software to provide real time coverage of live events Creating and updating website content Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and ongoing deadlines Experience with statistical software packages for a variety of sports Experience in writing, editing, and designing press releases and media guides Managing press operations at home athletic events and Experience arranging interviews between media, coaches and student-athletes
