The Sports Information Director manages the coverage, support to, and marketing of Malone Universities 20 intercollegiate sports programs, and student-athletes within these programs. Responsibilities include administration of the day-to-day sports information office, management of the sports information budget, producing social media content and promotional materials, supervision of student workers and graduate-assistants and oversight of events including home game management.
The Sports Information Director serves as the primary media liaison for athletics. They serve as a home game administrator and provide oversight of graduate assistants and student workers. Other duties include management of the Malone University Athletics website and social media accounts, promotion and marketing of student-athletes and athletic events, and video streaming of select home contests. The director maintains and updates historical records associated with scores, rosters, schedules, articles, press releases, team and individual statistics and game notes. They serve as the Chair of the Athletics Hall of Fame committee, collaborating with the Alumni Office to promote, plan and facilitate annual Hall of Fame festivities.
A bachelor's degree and two or more years of demonstrated experience in sports information or a related field. Basic understanding of Stat Crew, website design and maintenance, social media management along with strong communication and organizational skills. Early morning, evening and weekend hours required based upon competition and event schedules.
