Assistant & Associate Communications/Sports Info/Media Relations Dir (perm.)

The Athletic Media Relations Assistant Director within the Athletic Department at Missouri Southern will report to the Director of Athletic Communications and will be responsible for media relations efforts for at least four sports as the direct contact for the sports.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
This person will be directly responsible for at least four sports to include at the minimum the sports of Women’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball, Softball and share responsibilities for track and field/cross country. The incumbent will be responsible for all game day related activities including statistical compilation, arranging scoreboard operators and will be called on to be a public address announcer during their events (not to include women’s basketball). They will be responsible for upkeep of their particular sections of the official athletics website (www.mssulions.com), providing content in the forms of recaps, previews, stats and features.
The incumbent will also be responsible for the design and editing of media guides for their sports, as well as designing and keeping up-to-date game notes for women’s basketball.
Education, Experience, and Licenses
College Degree Required
One year prior professional experience in the Sports Information Field
An equivalent amount of experience can be substituted for education
Experience in statistical programs for the sports responsible
Experience with desktop publishing software (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)

The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. During game conditions, the noise level is often loud.
