New England College is looking for a Graduate Assistant for 2023-24 in the area of Athletic Administration & Communications. Responsibilities include assisting The Director of Athletics and Director of Sports Communication in all phases of the New England College Athletics Department including assisting with facility scheduling, games management, work-study personnel, assigning officials, transportation needs, camps, academic coordinating, Sports Information assignments, and all other aspects of the department. The Graduate Assistant Position includes a full tuition waiver, free housing, and a partial meal plan.
Appointment Responsibilities:
Sports Information – Assist the Athletics Communication Coordinator with game write-ups, in-game stats, and other marketing on the website and social media.
Games Management – Need to be willing to work long hours including managing games. Have to work with opponents, officials, staff to ensure professional preparations.
Work-Study – Assist in the creation, implementation and supervision of work-study students and the jobs they fill. Work closely with those individuals to make sure that all student job responsibilities are being met.
Teamwork – There is an expectation that the candidate will be willing to work with other department staff on various large or small assignments.
Other Duties – There will be other duties assigned from the athletics department that might include, but are not limited to, event preparation and facility management.
Candidate review begins immediately and continues until position is filled. Compensation includes tuition, housing and a meal plan. Candidate must be accepted into the NEC Graduate Program. Collegiate playing, coaching, or administrative experience preferred.
