Assistant Director of Athletic Communications
Davidson College, an NCAA Division I school and member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, Pioneer Football League and Southern Conference (wrestling) is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting the Athletic Communications staff with coverage of 21 sports; serving as the primary contact for women’s soccer, women’s basketball, men’s & women’s tennis -- sport assignments subject to change based on candidate; producing online team record books/media guides, game notes, news releases, statistics compilation; generating feature content video/stories and other unique coverage for DavidsonWildcats.com; establishing and maintaining positive relations with media through strong interpersonal communication skills; staffing home and select away events; assist in facilitating social media in line with department goals; other duties as assigned. Individuals will also assist with gameday responsibilities for the men’s basketball and football programs, while playing a role in set up, production and breakdown of Davidson Athletics ESPN+/video.
This position also requires a heavy emphasis on generating, creating and maintaining content (story, graphic, digital, video) Athletics Web site (DavidsonWildcats.com), and Social Media platforms (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) for the department, as well as assigned sports.
Preferences Excellent communication and organizational skills; must possess good writing and editing ability; knowledge of AP style; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites (i.e. InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, Illustrator) Microsoft Word and StatCrew/NLS statistical software; strong knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok). Knowledge of digital photography and video, not required but highly recommended.

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Sports Management or a related field. Minimum of two years experience in a college athletic communications office or similar field.
