The Sports Information Specialist reports to the Athletics Communications Director and will manage the sports information operations of the department while assisting with the development and publication of the athletic department’s marketing and creative content in the manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the University of Wisconsin-Superior Athletic Department.
NCAA 15.4.5 Athletic Staff Involvement. Members of the athletic staff of a member institution shall not be permitted to arrange or modify the financial aid package (as assembled by the financial aid officer or financial aid committee) and are prohibited from serving as members of a member institutions financial aid committees and from being involved in any manner in the review of the institutional financial assistance to be awarded to a student-athlete.
As an athletics department staff member, it is impermissible to discuss specifics concerning a student-athlete’s financial aid package with any individuals or departments (e.g., financial aid, admissions) involved in determining the financial aid awards for students. NCAA 11.2.1 Stipulation That NCAA Enforcement Provisions Apply. Contractual agreements or appointments between a coach and an institution shall include the stipulation that a coach who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or correction action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations.

Job Description Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the athletic program; to include adhering to and enforcing all departmental policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations of the University, the governing sport conference, and the NCAA.
Maintain the statistical databases for each sport and report results to the NCAA, the University's governing conference(s), and applicable conference affiliates, and local, regional, and national media.
Act as the primary supervisor for the student employment statistics staff, with duties including but not limited to training, scheduling, and review and approval of time worked.
Coordinate and manage the compilation of statistics for all home athletic events, including the scheduling and management of student and game day staff, set-up and tear-down of the scores table(s), and other duties essential to statistic compilation and game day support.
Coordinate and oversee the live statistics platform for all home athletic events and assist with the coordination and oversight of online video streaming.
Maintain the university's athletics website, including the timely publication of game recaps, schedules, rosters and other engaging and essential content.
Assist with the management and oversight of department and team social media accounts and creative content.
Assist with the development, implementation, and management of department's marketing and branding strategies.
Assist with graphic design and creative content development, coordinating the creation and development of materials, such as: social media graphics, infographics, guides and publications, and other needs.
Oversee the production of game programs and materials for all home athletic events.
Assist with the creation of game scripts and other various game day materials.
Provide oversight of the department's historical records and updating team record books and related archives.
Nominate student-athletes for conference and national awards.
Participates in public relations activities to include speaking engagements, television and radio interviews and press conferences, as approved or requested. Represents Athletic Department at professional, civic, charitable and alumni events.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
One or more years of experience working in collegiate athletics.
Current valid driver’s license
Desirable Qulifications
Experience in athletic communications leading sports information.
