The Sports Information Director works closely with all staff in the Department of Athletics and Recreation to create content for the athletics website and social media channels, manage statistics and historical data on all varsity programs, promote competitions, and assist with game operations including staffing, livestreams, statistics, and other items as needed.

Essential Duties
Creates content for the department website (www.bardathletics.com) and all department and team social media channels, including rosters, schedules, coach and student bios, game programs, competition recaps, special features, and more.
Assists Department staff in creating and implementing programs and content that enhances the visibility of athletics on campus and in the local community.
Attends most home athletic contests and administers aspects of game operations including all scorekeeping, music, and video.
Hires, supervises, and evaluates gameday staff including scoreboard operators, scorekeepers, livestream camera operators, spotters, and other staff as needed.
Submits nominations and oversees promotion of student-athletes and coaches for awards, including weekly conference honors, sport-specific awards, NCAA-wide distinctions and others.
Oversees photography (and hires professionals and/or students) for website, social media, brochures, and other promotional materials.
Reports necessary team and individual student athlete statistical information to the NCAA, Liberty League, New England Volleyball Conference, College Squash Association and additional national sport-related associations.
Attends required sports information meetings sponsored by the conference and national association (College Sports Communicators or CSC).
Maintains all statistics, archives and records for intercollegiate programs.
Supervises part-time staff (to include an Assistant Sports Information Director) gameday staff, contractors, student assistants, and others as needed.
Manages Sports Information department budget, including supplies, staff, travel, and all other expenses.
Qualifications
Candidates should have exceptionally strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive experience with content creation and website management is required.
Must be proficient in StatCrew software for all varsity sports sponsored by Bard College.
Must be familiar with Division III rules and regulations, and the Division III philosophy for intercollegiate athletics.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Journalism, Writing, Sports Management or related discipline.
