Wichita State University – Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Inc. (ICAA), located in Kansas, is a member of the American Athletic Conference and sponsor of 15 Division I sports, seeking applications for Graduate Assistants for the 2023-2024 academic year in the following areas:
1) Communications – This position will be the primary sport contact for selected sports in the communications office. Responsibilities include writing news releases, maintaining statistics and records, creating fact books, assisting with social media accounts, and serving as the liaison between the media and the sport programs.
2) Marketing – This position will be the primary sport contact for selected sports in the marketing office. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of individual sport marketing plans, assist with overall marketing strategy and game day presentation, assist with game day sponsor fulfillment and promotion.
3) Creative – This position will assist the communications staff with sport specific social media accounts. Responsibilities include production of creative content (video content, graphic design) and other duties as assigned.
4) Shocker LIFE – The Shocker LIFE Graduate Assistant assists the Athletic Student Services staff in all aspects of the Athletic Student Services Office. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and adherence to all University, AAC and NCAA regulations. Create weekly student-athlete email highlighting past, current, and future events and information. Monitor all community service activities across all sports. Plan, organize, promote, and facilitate student-athlete development programming. Monitor and create content for all Shocker LIFE social media accounts.
5) Ticket Operations – Duties include providing daily customer service to assist with season ticket renewals and game day sales.
6) Facilities & Events – Duties include set-up and tear down for various athletic events, external events, and day to day facility operations; perform various facility maintenance functions; lead coordination of various external and athletic events, assist with gameday operations as needed.
7) Equipment - Assist equipment services staff with daily operation of the equipment room which includes: Laundry pickup, washing and dispersal. equipment maintenance and repair, Oversee UA accounts for selected sport teams, locker room preparation for all games, package check in and delivery to respective department(s), develop exceptional customer service through organization, communication, and delivery with each of the assigned areas. Evenings and weekends as needed.

To be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to a graduate degree program in either full or conditional standing.
